From the Voice of a Producer – Neighbouring Rights and How to Get Paid. An IAFAR webinar in partnership with AYO Music Group
The title says it all! If you’re a studio Producer, you can get paid neighbouring rights. However, there are lots more hoops to jump through and the journey is not smooth sailing. Countries are hugely different and rules around paying producers are hugely different. Much of this is due to the vague nature of the word ‘producer’. A ‘Producer’ in some countries, is the rights holder (or the person who has paid for the recording). In this day and age, artists can proudly produce from their bedroom, but then ensuring that is recorded as an audible contribution in label copy in a way that is necessary around the world, is a different kettle of fish. Join us on the 21st January 7pm GMT as we do a deep dive into this convoluted income stream and how you, as a producer, can get paid.
