IAFAR supports Music Declares Emergency!
IAFAR is proud to support MDE.
MDE are a group of music industry professionals and artists who believe in the power of music to promote the necessary cultural changed to create a greener, fairer, better future.
They have already received overwhelming support from all areas of the UK music industry for their declaration which calls for:
- Governments to act urgently on climate, reverse biodiversity loss, and reach net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2030.
- A commitment to taking urgent action on the environmental impact of our industry’s practices and to address global injustices that have led to the climate emergency.
Their declaration has over 4,000 signees. These represent all areas and genres of the music industry, from the major labels and independent label sector to mainstream and emerging artists, the live sector, music publishers, business support sector and grassroots musicians and organisations.
Notable artist declarers include Billie Eilish, Radiohead, Massive Attack, Mick Hucknall, Aurora, Chrissie Hynde, Coldcut, The 1975, IDLES, Pussy Riot, Shabaka Hutchings, Imogen Heap, Robyn, Cassie Knoshi, Brian Eno and The XX.
